Compliance Administrator
The Compliance Administrator will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HPD compliance, ensuring that all regulatory requirements, reporting obligations, and documentation are completed accurately and in a timely manner. This individual will serve as a key liaison between the company, regulatory agencies, and property management teams to maintain adherence to affordable housing and rent regulation policies.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all properties comply with HPD, HUD, LIHTC, and other affordable housing regulations.
- Prepare and submit required reports, certifications, and applications, including but not limited to annual compliance reports, property registrations, and rent stabilization filings.
- Verify and process income certifications, lease renewals, and eligibility documentation to ensure compliance with affordable housing guidelines.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for HPD, NYC Housing Finance Agency (HFA), and other housing authorities regarding inspections, audits, and regulatory matters.
- Ensure compliance with regulations from the Department of Buildings (DOB), Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Department of Sanitation (DSNY), Fire Department of New York (FDNY), and Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH).
- Maintain detailed records of all compliance documentation, conduct internal audits, and ensure all necessary compliance documentation is organized and up to date.
- Assist property management teams in understanding and adhering to compliance requirements through training and ongoing guidance.
- Stay current on regulatory changes related to affordable housing, HPD policies, and other compliance-related matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Public Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- 2 of experience in property management compliance, preferably with HPD, LIHTC, or Section 8 housing programs.
- Strong understanding of NYC housing regulations, HPD requirements, and affordable housing compliance.
- Proficiency in compliance software such as Yardi, RealPage, or other property management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external agencies.
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
