Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and member-focused Golf Shop Manager to join our team here at The Quogue Field Club. The ideal candidate would be able to start beginning in Mid-June and will stay until Mid-September. They will assist with inventory management, handle the receiving of new merchandise, and provide excellent customer service. The individual will also be responsible for assisting with member inquiries, handling incoming phone-calls, and ensuring the shop runs smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management/Merchandising
- Assist with the receiving and stocking of new inventory, ensuring all products are priced and displayed.
- Track inventory levels and report low stock or re-order needs to ensure the shop is well-stocked.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movement, including sales, returns, and stock adjustments.
Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers with product selections, answering questions, and recommending items based on customer needs.
- Ensure customers have a positive experience in the shop and handle any concerns or complaints in a professional manner.
Phone and In-Person Communication:
- Answer incoming phone calls, provide accurate information, and direct calls to the appropriate staff members or departments.
- Take tee-time reservations, lesson bookings and tournament registrations.
Administrative and Operational Support:
- Maintain organized records of customer transactions, returns, and exchanges.
- Handle point-of-sale (POS) operations, including processing sales and managing financial transactions.
- Assist with the opening and closing duties of the golf shop, including securing the shop at the end of the day.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Previous experience in retail or golf shop management is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of golf products, including equipment, apparel, and accessories.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, both in person and over the phone.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move inventory, sometimes requiring physical labor.
