What We Seek :

We are seeking an experienced Director of Finance to be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of Raben, ensuring the health and growth of our financial position. Reporting to the COO, this role works to drive financial performance, provide key insights for decision-making, and help implement best practices in financial management. This position is located in our Washington, DC office and follows a hybrid schedule with two days per week in the office.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute Raben's financial strategy in alignment with business objectives and growth plans.
  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning process while analyzing the firm's financial performance, identifying trends, and recommending actions to improve profitability and efficiency.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance, tax reporting and business insurance.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure financial stability and support operational needs.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team while fostering a collaborative environment and building strong cross-functional relationships across the firm.
  • Oversee the payroll and monthly commissions process.
  • Manage nonprofit accounting and financial processes, as they are connected to Raben.

Requirements

Requirements :

  • 8 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with extensive experience in nonprofit accounting.
  • Experience in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Advanced proficiency with accounting and expense reporting software (QuickBooks, Tallie, Bill.com).
  • Experience with internal audits.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing finance teams.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

    Salary Range and Benefits :

    Our salary range for this role is between $135,000-$145,000 per year, commensurate with experience and locality.     COVID-19 Policy :

    Regardless of work location, all staff of Raben must show proof of having received an FDA authorized COVID-19 vaccination or provide a medical or religious exemption. New employees must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or exemption no later than their first day of employment.
