Job Description – Scheduling Specialist
The scheduling clerk is responsible for answering incoming phone and scheduling appointments in accordance with the scheduling handbook in a timely and courteous manner.
Essential Functions
Scheduling
· Schedule exams in accordance with the scheduling handbook and relay information to referring physicians’ offices.
· Call patients and reschedule appointments as needed.
· Verify workman’s compensation status.
· Other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
· Medical industry experience a plus.
· Detail-oriented with the ability to handle high call volume.
· Excellent customer relations skills.
· Must be educated on and compliant with HIPAA.
Education
· High School Degree or equivalent as a minimum.
Computer Skills
· Accurate data entry skills are required.
· Ability to learn and master RIS and PACS applications.
· Able to type 40 words per minute.
Physical Work Demands
· Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
· Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach on a daily basis.
· Able to speak clearly and communicate effectively.
· Requires normal, correctable vision and hearing.
Other Work Demands
· Regular and on-time attendance.
· Must be educated on and compliant with HIPAA regulations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $13.00 per hour
