About the Company
The Ranger Group, a leading US Engineering Solutions provider to companies across the Aerospace & Defense, Medical Device, Electronics and Industrial Manufacturing industries, is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a contract role with an oil & gas client of ours in the North Dallas area. The work will be completed in a hybrid capacity and the project has an expected duration of 12 months but could go longer.
Position Summary
The Mechanical Engineer will assist in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting mechanical systems, with a focus on using MathCAD software for calculations and modeling. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, a collaborative mindset, and a willingness to learn and grow within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform engineering calculations, modeling, and analysis using MathCAD.
- Assist in the design and development of mechanical systems and components for oil and gas applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including senior engineers and project managers, to deliver engineering solutions.
- Support documentation of engineering processes, designs, and specifications.
- Assist with testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance of mechanical components.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, company guidelines, and project requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with MathCAD (academic, internship, or professional experience required).
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced industry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or co-op experience in the oil and gas industry is a plus.
- Familiarity with other engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is a bonus.
