Description:

We are looking for a motivated, apprentice level welder to join our company as a Welding Fabricator. As part of our team of professional fabricators, you construct and manufacture metal parts and products, taking particular care to produce clean, polished welds. You follow blueprints, determine material measurements, and take responsibility for fabricating parts used in later assembly processes. You are responsible for the quality of your output, so you must be able to perform simple tests to ensure weld quality and tolerance.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Fabricate metal components and structures according to project specifications and blueprints.
  • Perform welding tasks such as MIG, TIG, stick and aluminum welding, ensuring strong and accurate welds.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine the layout and specifications for each project.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure the quality and accuracy of welded components, making necessary adjustments as required.
  • Collaborate with team members to prioritize work and meet project deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Occasional travel required, including some overnight stays.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • 0 - 2 years of welding and fabrication experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in the construction or manufacturing industry is a plus.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Must display Core Values.
  • Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding.
  • Ability to operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.

Work Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Must pass post-offer employment drug testing, medical exams, mvr, and physical agility testing.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and/or supervisors with other duties as required.

  • Must work with their arms above the shoulders for long periods.
  • May withstand continuous exposures to wind, dust, fumes, and noxious odors.
  • Must possess the strength, mobility, agility, and balance to walk unrestricted on uneven, unsure, and slippery surfaces without assistance.
  • Must possess unrestricted mobility to twist, turn, bend, and lean in all directions, lookup, down and side to side without hesitation or discomfort.
  • Except for conventional corrective aids, must possess normal eyesight, depth of perception, field of vision, normal hearing, quick reaction time, unimpaired eye-hand coordination, and manual dexterity.
  • Must possess the strength, mobility, agility and balance to ascend access ladders and steps, and to maneuver on equipment and vehicles without assistance.
  • Must repetitively lift up to 100-pounds.
  • Required upper body strength to perform repetitive bending at the waist.
  • Must repetitively climb and dismount from a high vehicle cab 50-times a day.
  • Must repetitively lift up to 60-pounds, 50-times a day.
  • Must possess sufficient strength to continuously operate equipment controls and tools weighing up to 20-pounds for uninterrupted periods of up to 4-hours.
  • Skeletal, joint and muscle system must withstand continuous impact from driving activities.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat.
  • The employee may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The employee may be exposed to risk of electrical shock or burn.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Work schedule is Monday through Friday with weekend and some holiday and evening work required. Generally, 50 hours per week.
