Position Overview 

This position will support and assist THE rAVe Agency and rAVe [PUBS] at industry trade shows, specifically focusing on THE GAME, an interactive experience designed to engage exhibitors and attendees. The primary responsibility of an intern for THE GAME is to facilitate, manage and oversee participants playing THE GAME, ensuring smooth operations and an exciting experience for all involved.


Trade shows are large-scale, fast-paced environments featuring hundreds of exhibitors, and THE GAME plays a major role in connecting attendees with key brands on the show floor. As an intern for THE GAME, you will be responsible for interacting with exhibitors and attendees, explaining the game format and collecting leads. Your role will be to ensure participants understand the rules and stay engaged throughout the event.


This role is highly interactive and people-focused, requiring strong communication skills, enthusiasm and adaptability. You will need to be comfortable engaging with attendees, assisting with logistics and managing real-time updates related to THE GAME’s progress. No prior experience with trade shows is required—we will provide training on expectations, best practices and THE GAME structure prior to the event.


Beyond your role in THE GAME, you may be assigned additional trade show-related tasks to support the rAVe team’s coverage efforts, such as assisting with exhibitor engagement, event logistics, and attendee interactions.


This position will be paid hourly at $12/hour. With this position, you will be working over 40 hours during the trip, so please be prepared for long days on your feet in a fast-paced environment.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Be available for an in-person evening (4 p.m. - 8 p.m.) training day on May 20, 2025.
  • Be available for a virtual final preparations meeting (4 p.m. - 5 p.m.) on Monday, June 2, 2025.
  • Be available to travel to Orlando, FL, on Monday, June 9, 2025, and return from the show on Saturday, June 14, 2025.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and confidence in approaching strangers.
  • Flexibility – Must be available during the day and evenings throughout the duration of the show

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Outgoing and engaging personality, as you will be interacting with exhibitors and attendees throughout the show.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced trade show environment.
  • Strong attention to detail to track and verify game participation accurately.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively, as you will be monitoring multiple participants simultaneously.
  • Interest in technology and live event engagement.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve quickly, ensuring smooth gameplay experiences.

Essential Functions

  • Attend InfoComm 2025 and represent rAVe [PUBS] and THE GAME professionally on the show floor.
  • Attend pre-show training and preparation meetings in person.
  • Engage exhibitors and attendees, ensuring they understand how to participate in THE GAME.
  • Monitor participation, collect leads and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Encourage engagement and energy, creating an exciting experience for participants.
  • Assist with trade show logistics, including setup, game materials distribution and teardown.
  • Read and study the Show Sheet and other reference materials before the show (must be completed before June 7, 2025).

Physical Demands

  • Employees must be able to lift and carry boxes and luggage up to 35 pounds.
  • Employees must be able to be on your feet 8 hours a day.

Work Environment

Work will be performed in person at our office in Chapel Hill, NC and then also in Orlando, FL when we travel to the show.
