About our team:
We are an expanding the Automation Electrical Engineering department at The Raymond Corporation. We support various automation projects from fully automated industrial vehicles to operator assist technologies.
About the position:
We're looking for a Technical Specialist to join our Automation Electrical Engineering group! In this role, you will:
- Organize development lab space and tools.
- Coordinate use of equipment and lab space for development team.
- Order parts and other necessities for the department.
- Support project logistics by coordinating ordering, shipping materials/tools, and helping planning trips.
- Evaluate prototype parts, designs, process, or procedures.
- Troubleshoot with a multimeter.
- Work in an Engineering Lab environment to build prototype components/material handling vehicles, using hand and power tools.
- Set-up and operate equipment, vehicles, prototypes, fixtures, or product for standard tests as well as new and unusual tests.
- Perform tests per defined and undefined procedures.
- Assemble, repair, and fabricate component assemblies, cables, and wire harnesses.
- Interface with manufacturing engineering, procurement, and planning to create and obtain components for development support.
- Review and provide feedback to engineering on accuracy of documentation for hand/prototype builds.
- Record, organize, and present data in a solution focused manner.
- Communicate results to other technicians, designers, engineers, managers, or manufacturing employees with an approach that supports and develops teamwork and the timely completion of projects.
- Ability to travel 15-20% of year. Mostly day trips to other Raymond sites. Occasionally overnight trips to support development efforts.
About the schedule:
This position is 1st shift and will work 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
About you:
- 2 year of experience in manufacturing, machining, lab development or test environment.
- Basic knowledge of power tools and hand tools.
- Knowledge of math, physics, and engineering principles.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
- Basics of Microsoft excel, word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong time management, communication, and organization skills.
- Proficiency with tools suited to area of specialization, such as wire harness and cable assembly tools, personal computer, meters, and hand tools.
It would be great if you had:
- Experience with:
- Creo schematics and Creo parametric
- Troubleshooting CAN and Ethernet networks
- Using oscilloscopes
- Associate degree in a technical field.
About the total compensation package:
Wage - $21.64 - $28.02 per hour. Compensation depends on the selected candidate's education and experience.
