What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Care Staff position at The Reach Corporation?
Position Summary: The Development Disability Care Aide (DDCA) position provided direct supervision and training to the individuals who reside in a group home. The supervision may occur in a day services setting also. This supervision and training will vary in degree of intensity based on the needs of each individual. The job responsibilities also include protecting and affirming the rights of the individuals while assisting them to achieve greater independence by creating an environment responsive to their needs. Teaching our clients every day living skills so that one day they may be able to live on their own.
On Job Training: We provide DDDCA classes so that you may become certified to work. Classes are 3-week's long, and you will be paid to attend the class. At the end of the class, you will be required to go the local Vo-Tech and take the State test.
Work Location and Environment: We operate 6 & 8 bed small home facilities (Group Homes) out in the community in Okmulgee, Okemah & Weleetka.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
- Must have a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and be insurable under the company’s insurance policy in order to drive company vehicles or if in a position designated as a driver.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening & background check.
