Position

The Development Director will be responsible for TREC’s corporate membership development and all aspects of revenue for TREC and TREC Community Investors. The Director will be responsible for developing and executing a clearly defined strategy to amplify membership, fundraising, and event/program sponsorships and enhance TREC’s brand equity and awareness. The Director will also manage grant fundraising activities for TREC Community Investors. 

Essential Functions

·        Responsible for developing and implementing membership strategies, managing corporate member recruitment, engagement, and ensuring member retention.

·        Provide vision, leadership, and management of TREC and TREC Community Investors’ fundraising strategies, sponsorship marketing, and corporate membership recruitment to maximize profitability of all revenue centers and event gross margins. Annual fundraising budget is currently $1.22 million and includes donations, grants, and event/program sponsorships.

·        Provide strategic input to TREC leadership regarding fundraising, partnership, and membership opportunities. 

·        Responsible for developing relationships with primary funders and cultivating new funding relationships.

·        Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure TREC’s financial strategy and budget are considered in fundraising efforts and utilization of grant funds.

·        Manage all donor engagement and communications.

Special Requirements

Local travel for meetings and volunteer support activities as requested and occasional evening and weekend work. Some early mornings and late evenings are required- typically for events.


This position requires the ability to set up and run meetings and events. As such, individuals should be able to meet physical demands and be able to lift up to ten pounds.


Work Experience

Must have demonstrated success in a development and membership position in a related field with a minimum of 4 years’ experience. 4-year college degree required.


Compensation and Benefits

TREC offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including but not limited to, health insurance and a SIMPLE IRA retirement plan with employer match. The salary range for this position is $120,000-130,000, based on related experience, plus performance-based bonus eligibility.
