The Real School of Music is one of the top music schools in New England focusing on providing private lessons, student bands of all genres, children’s musical theatre, and so much more. We are looking for the right Marketing & Events Coordinator to join our band and foster an engaging, inviting, and incredible customer experience from the moment they hear about us through the years they are with us. This part-time opportunity (20-25 hrs per week) offers some remote work as well as regular in-person engagement at each of our schools in Andover & Burlington, MA and Derry, NH. This role offers flexible hours and does require some regular weekend and evening work at our schools and at offsite community events.

As part of the marketing team, you will bring your creative ideas and community-building mindset to increase connection with our local communities surrounding Andover, Burlington and Derry for greater brand recognition and increased engagement. You will be the driving force for our organic social media strategy, gathering content by having your eyes and ears on the heartbeat of our schools and their students. You will also help build a stronger internal community with our parents, students, and staff to create deeper, more long term relationships with our customers.

Here’s a peek at some of the things the Marketing & Events Coordinator will do under the guidance of the Director of Marketing:

  • Create and maintain a content calendar for organic social media growth on each channel
  • Monitor, adjust, and make recommendations for social media strategies for increased engagement and to drive website traffic as trends and algorithms change
  • Write and craft engaging copy and visual content for the Real School blog focused on music education to increase traffic and boost SEO rankings
  • Plan and execute internal events as a team such as Open Houses, Parents Night Out, Spirit Weeks, and staff events such as the annual awards ceremony and summer barbecue
  • Research opportunities for participation in local community events such as town days including staffing, booth setup, and delivering an engaging experience to increase brand awareness and drive leads
  • Update, manage, and send internal weekly newsletter to celebrate achievements and share important information with staff
  • Attend and document various events such as showcases, musical theatre performances, and other school events to accumulate and curate marketing content
  • Research and engage in local Facebook groups that would be beneficial for hiring/recruiting and driving trials
  • Showcase leadership and pride in Real School programs, staff, and events to students and staff at all times
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Marketing including stepping in as marketing lead/liaison when Marketing Director is unavailable

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1 years of organic social media marketing work experience
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable vehicle and the ability to travel to all three schools weekly as needed (Andover & Burlington, MA and Derry, NH)
  • Availability to work regular weekend and evening hours
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic knowledge of planning and executing events
  • Familiarity with Google Suite, Canva, Wordpress, and Asana
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
