Job Title: Patient Financial Advocate
About the Role
The Recovery Village Columbus is seeking a highly skilled and empathetic Patient Financial Advocate to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical role in advocating for patients' financial interests and ensuring that their financial needs are met.
You will be responsible for coordinating with our multidisciplinary treatment team to develop individualized aftercare plans that meet the unique needs of each patient, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines, conducting weekly discharge needs assessments, and developing individualized aftercare appointments. You will also be responsible for collecting Co-pays, Deductibles, and private pay fees within 24 hours of the client's admission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain open communication and collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team to address aftercare and discharge planning needs.
- Develop individualized aftercare appointments by collaborating with patients.
- Ensure follow-up appointments are made within 7 days of discharge from our facility with a behavioral health provider.
- Coordinate directly with referents and payors to ensure continued care needs are met.
- Collect Co-pays, Deductibles, and private pay fees within 24 hours of the client's admission.
- Assist patients in staying focused on their treatment by addressing employer and legal needs.
- Conduct weekly discharge needs assessments and develop individualized aftercare plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in health-related field, Finance/Accounting or Medical Management office experience preferred. Minimum high school diploma.
- Minimum one- or two-years' experience, preferred experience in the medical, behavioral healthcare or financial field.
- Familiar with community resources and proficient in providing, discussing, and resolving financial issues and policies.
