Reports to: Estimating Manager
Job Summary: The AutoCAD Drafter & Project Estimator provides precise project estimates and layout designs to support sales. This role requires expertise in AutoCAD to create accurate layouts while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills are essential.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Create, modify, and finalize court layouts using AutoCAD.
- Prepare accurate project estimates per customer specifications and company standards.
- Translate project requirements into precise layouts.
- Report project concerns or discrepancies to the Estimating Manager.
- Accurately complete assigned projects within deadlines.
- Maintain project documentation, including drawings, revisions, and estimates.
- Communicate with sales team when necessary.
- Update daily project spreadsheet with completed projects.
Responsible for additional duties and accountabilities that will be assigned as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for drafting and design.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with sales and project teams.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in both design and estimation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving project requirements.
Computer Skills
- Proficiency with AutoCAD (Required).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with CorelDRAW (Preferred).
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (Preferred).
Other Qualifications
- Must pass drug test
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Ability to work with a diverse workforce
- Maintain a professional appearance and grooming
- Legal to travel within the U.S. (48 states)
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (Preferred).
- 1-3 years of experience in AutoCAD drafting and/or project estimation.
Physical Requirements:
This remote position requires prolonged periods of sitting while working on a computer, including extensive use of a keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment. The ideal candidate should have a reliable internet connection and a dedicated, quiet workspace to maintain focus and productivity. Additionally, they must be comfortable participating in virtual meetings, communicating clearly, and staying engaged in a remote team environment.
