What are the responsibilities and job description for the Audiology Technician; Newborn Hearing Screener position at The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia?
Provide coverage every Monday or every Thursday in addition to coverage Friday - Sunday twice a month.
- Provides routine screening testing that is monitored by a clinical audiologist. Both automated auditory brainstem response (AABR) and otoacoustic emission (OAE) testing are conducted with a screening protocol (Pass/Fail).
- Responsible for reporting screening results to the audiology supervisor, as well as to the attending physicians and pediatricians (via electronic medical record).
- Responsible for tracking of all infants tested and for maintaining appropriate documentation of all test results so that infants requiring follow-up receive diagnostic testing by a clinical audiologist in a timely manner.
- Responsible for data input and for maintaining all records for a database.
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
