What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dir, Patient Friendly Billing position at The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia?
- Drive successful project completion for the Patient Friendly Billing department by:
- Directs the patient collection process including the central call center Self Pay management financing options and monthly statements and statement cycles and supports the optimization of all Patient Liability
- Management functions Directs all patient contact related to financial inquiries including call center operations and dispute resolution pathways
- Directs bad debt referral processes and ensures optimal vendor performance through frequent communication reconciliation and metrics monitoring
- Works closely with the Epic project team to ensure successful implementation and ongoing effectiveness of the Patient Friendly Billing Unit Performs other appropriate duties as required in a competent professional and courteous manner including participating in special projects as assigned
- Compiles the annual budget for PFB and participate in annual budget process.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree with preference in Business
Administration or Healthcare Administration required; Masters degree must be obtained within 4 years of hire or transfer.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience leading teams of 10 or more and managing and improving Professional and Technical Patient Financial Services groups in complex operating environments. Previous experience implementing Epic's Single Billing Office model.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
