UVAFinance is seeking a Financial Analyst / Senior Financial Analyst to join the Office of the AVP of Finance & Controller for a two-year term, with the possibility of extension based on business needs and funding. This role provides critical support in ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with accounting principles and university policies, as well as work on cross functional projects to implement industry best practices in operations, accounting, and internal controls.
The Financial Analyst / Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting financial initiatives across UVA Finance by performing analysis, managing documentation, and supporting cross-functional collaboration and projects that drive process improvements and financial reporting enhancements.
Key Responsibilities Include :
- Conduct data analysis to support finance-related initiatives, delivering accountable insights for operational efficiencies
- Evaluating current processes to identify opportunities for process optimization and implementing best practices
- Provide analytical, administrative, and project management support to ensure timely completion, and documentation of finance related initiatives.
- Coordinating with cross-functional teams within UVAFinance and the university to support project logistics, track progress, and follow up on action items.
- Maintaining and organizing key documents, records, and databases related to finance projects
- Facilitating effective communication by drafting clear and concise updates, summaries, and follow-up messages for finance-related initiatives and project outcomes.
Qualifications for the Senior Financial Analyst and or Financial Analyst
Preferred Competencies :
Anticipated Hiring Range for the Sr. Financial Analyst : $88K - $110k per year commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity.
Anticipated Hiring Range for the Financial Analyst : $60K - $70k per year commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity.

This role reports to the Finance Manager within the Office of the University Controller. Hybrid or fully in-person options are available, with the requirement of at least 3 days in-the-office per week.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education : High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Experience : At least one year of experience.
Licensure : CMA, CFA, CTP, or CPA is typically acquired while in the position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
