The UVA Medical Center is seeking experienced Surgical Technologist as well as new graduates, or those who are currently enrolled in an accredited Surgical Technologist Training Program to join our award-winning interdisciplinary team within our 600 bed Academic University Medical Center.
Here, you will be joining a team of nationally recognized physicians, nurses, surgeons, and specialists known for their quality of care, positive outcomes, innovative treatments, technologies, and research.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to gathering needed supplies and instrumentation for surgical procedures according to the surgeon preference card. Maintains the sterile field and anticipating the needs of the surgical team. Is constantly vigilant to the adherence of aseptic technique by all team members.

Position Compensation Range : $20.68 - $32.05 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education : High School Diploma or equivalent. Currently enrolled or graduated from a surgical technologist training program accredited by CAHEEP / AHEBS OR NCCT Approved program.
Experience : No experience required.
Licensure : BLS required. Certified to practice as a Surgical Technologist by NBSTSA (The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) or NCCT (The National Center for Competency Testing) required at time of start date. Current Registration with Virginia Board of Medicine required at the time of hire.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods; Repetitive motion : passing instruments, lifting heavy instrument sets. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift / push / pull >
50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to cold, radiation, blood / body fluids and infectious disease.
