CONTRACT POSITION
This position is contractual beginning on the first day of employment and ending in June of each year, with the possibility of renewal pending positive performance review and continued funding (up to four years).
JOB SUMMARY
Redhouse Arts Center (Redhouse) is a professional, not-for-profit theater serving the community by providing leading and inclusive experiences through its theater and educational programs.
This is a full time, contracted position reporting to the Director of Education. The 21st CCLC Program Coordinator supports the Redhouse partnership with Syracuse City Schools at Porter Elementary and provides the instructional leadership that creates, implements, maintains, and enhances excellence, scholarship, creativity, and achievement for students and program staff.
The 21st CCLC Program Coordinator will work alongside district stakeholders and the Redhouse Director of Education to ensure both student and parent engagement is at its highest.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Oversee implementation of 21st CCLC program project indicators, while facilitating student and staff engagement
- Work alongside the Education Department in order to ensure effective and efficient implementation of curriculum and material dissemination
- Assist in the creation of all reports, records, and other paperwork as required by the Syracuse City School District and 21st CCLC/NYSED, as needed
- Observe and evaluate Instructors in the classroom, giving frequent and ample feedback for staff support and growth
- Assist in the management of attendance for Building Staff and schedule substitutes, as needed
- Work in collaboration and support of the Director of Education in the areas of professional development planning for teachers
- Provide feedback and guidance to Instructors that ensures program goals and outcomes are achieved
- Provide feedback and guidance to Instructors that ensures instructional materials are being requested and utilized properly for student success and engagement
- Promote effective communication that encourages positive staff morale and group dynamics for Instructors
- Provide insight and methods to help teachers build rapport with school administrators and staff
- Collaborate with and cross-train other Program Leads so coverage can be given in the event of an absence, as needed
- Other mission-based duties, as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor degree in education, preferred but not required
- Ability to lead a team, establish priorities, and contribute to a positive work environment that supports the production needs as well as overall Redhouse organization
- Work within the Education Department with the ability to understand the big picture and integration of work across the Redhouse organization.
- Experience in project and/or budget management
- Teaching experience in an urban environment
- Excellent knowledge of classroom management, curriculum design, and teacher training/ coaching
- Strong writing, editing, and grammar skills
- Administrative and analytical skills
