What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel Houseman position at The Red Roof Inn/Birmingham South?
The Houseman performs any combination of tasks to maintain guestrooms, working areas and the hotel premises in a clean and orderly manner. The Houseman must demonstrate a professional, friendly, warm and welcoming demeanor to all guests and employees. Houseman must also be able to work independently and identify any problems before being told.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Clean rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom and/or carpet shampoo machine, clean hallways, restrooms and other common areas, sweeps, mops, scrubs, vacuums and polish floors, collect all soiled linens for laundering, keep all common areas clean, neat and free of debris and trash, remove all trash collected from room attendants and other common trash receptacles, walks all assigned floors at beginning, throughout the day and at the end of the shift to collect trash, soiled linen and other items as assigned by management, help room attendants with heavy lifting and any special cleaning, maintaining pool area and other service areas clean and free of any debris and trash, handle any tasks that might be assigned by the supervisors as and when needed.
