Company Overview
The Barback is the assistant to the Bartenders. Barbacks clean the bars, take plates and utensils to the kitchen to be washed, collect soiled glassware to be cleaned by the bar dishwasher, maintain stock of alcohol and mixing ingredients, cut and stock fruit, and restocking ice. Barbacks might help bartenders bring food out to the bar, restock alcohol, mixers, utensils, napkins and other bar area needs. Depending on the venue, the barback may take on the busser duties. This is a tipped position.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare bar and lounge areas for patrons by cleaning and setting tables; setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, utensils, stocking ice, and ensuring there is plenty of glassware available for service.
- Supports bar staff by setting-up and replenishing condiment stands, trash bags, bus stations, cutting fruit, replenishing ice, and cleaning the bar area.
- Offer friendly and warm greetings to all restaurant and hotel guests.
- Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation and safety policies.
- Closes dining facility by cleaning chairs and tables, sweeping and/or vacuuming floors, removing trash and recyclables from the facility, melting ice in the ice wells, wiping all bottles, cleaning all dishwasher filter traps, mopping the floor behind and immediate around the bar, covering all bottles to eliminate bugs.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities.
- Must be flexible and willing to work a varied schedule.
- Nights, weekends, and holiday hours required.
- Other duties as assigned.
