Job Summary:
The estimator assists in preparing accurate and competitive estimates for residential, commercial, and public projects. Accomplished by analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation. The estimator will collaborate with the preconstruction team & designers to ensure that bid deadlines are met. The estimator will play a crucial role in helping secure profitable projects while maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Assists Estimating team in preparing detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and other project-related expenses.
· Analyzes project plans, specifications, and proposals to identify potential risks, required permits, and compliance with state and federal guidelines.
· Gathers and evaluates data on all factors that affect costs, including materials, labor and equipment, ensuring that estimates reflect current market conditions and comply with legal requirements.
· Ensures that all estimates and bids adhere to state and federal regulations, including but not limited to OSHA standards, labor laws, prevailing wage requirements, and environmental guidelines.
· Works closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to develop accurate estimates and ensure that all project requirements are met.
· Assists in reviewing and analyzing past project performance to refine estimating procedures and improve accuracy.
· Help in the preparation of bid proposals, ensuring that all required documentation is complete and compliant with regulatory standards.
· Assists in obtaining and reviewing quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring that their pricing is competitive and meets project requirements.
· Utilize (Bluebeam, CADD) to provide accurate quantity takeoffs.
· Provide complete cost-based estimates using HCSS Heavy Bid.
· Stays informed of industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory changes to continually refine and improve the estimating process.

· Experience with estimating software is a plus

Education and Experience:
· Direct field experience working on a landscape construction crew.
· 1-2 years of experience in landscape construction estimating or a related field.

Salary: 65,000 – 85,000
