What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Specialist position at The Refuge - A Healing Place?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead groups, participate in curriculum development for the program and collaborate with treatment team members to help the patients meet their treatment and care goals.
- Provide patient care within a program to include:
- Monitor patients to evaluate treatment progress.
- Intervene in crisis situations to assist patients.
- Modify treatment plans to accommodate patients' needs.
- Collaborate with other professionals to assess needs or plan treatments of patients.
- May counsel family members of patients.
- May assist patients by coordinating activities, providing companionship and assisting with basic needs
- Assist in the oversight and maintenance of the program schedule.
- Coordinate the activities of other program staff and oversee the work of interns as applicable.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Services field preferred.
- Two or more years' experience in behavioral health required.
