VICE PRESIDENT STRATEGY & PLANNING
The Axis Agency
The primary responsibility of the Vice President, Strategy and Planning is to provide strategic insights/direction to aid in the development of communications initiatives that are transformational for existing and potential agency clients. Working closely with the agency s account management, creative and analytic teams, this position provides an internal consultative perspective on strategy/new business development based on a synthesis of research results, data/analytic findings and competitive market analyses. This position will focus on a variety of products/services including financial services. In addition, this position plays a key role in agency new business pitches.
The ideal candidate:
Develop and lead marketing and communication strategies that are fueled by customer insights
Distill research and data/analytic findings and explain the strategic and/ or business implications of this information
Work with the client service and analytic leads to crystallize for clients the return on investment of our communications and interrogate the results for insight that will increase the effectiveness of the next generation of work
Requirements:
Master s degree in recognized business, psychology or social sciences field
10 years strategic planning experience in an agency or as a brand marketer in a client environment
Proven ability to understand, synthesize, and distill results from primary research and data/analytic efforts
Specific requirements:
- Proven experience working with Latino/mulitcultural market focused campaigns
- Planning experience in Brand, Digital and Integrated Communications
- Strong work ethic, persistence, tenacity, and attention to detail and quality
- Strong organizational, people management, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrable strategic marketing skills
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills (moderation experience a plus)
- Excellent written/verbal communications and dynamic presentation skills
- Strong team player who loves to bring new ideas to the table and help foster a culture of collaboration (proven success working in cross functional teams)
- Comfort working in highly flexible, entrepreneurial environments
- Innate curiosity and ability to connect insights and gain inspiration from disparate sources
- Resilient and flexible to ever-changing timelines, requests and deliverables
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, on multiple complex assignments
- Proactive about ways to maximize the client s impact within their budget
- Travel required as needed
