Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded.
What you will do
- Assists in maintaining financial records and performs accounting functions ensuring that required information is accurate, complete and in accordance with established policies and procedures :
- Prepares assigned journal entries.
- Prepares assigned account analysis and recommends action for reconciling items.
- Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
- Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Provides research and administrative support to special projects, preparing data, reports, and follows-up on projects.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
- Prepares and maintains required reports, records and files for administrative and compliance purposes. Utilizes computer to enter and format data, generate statistics, computations, tables, or charts.
- Confers and works collaboratively with hospital staff and auditors in a customer responsive and courteous manner, in compliance with Brand Promise standards and promoting patient / customer satisfaction.
- Corresponds with banks, tax authorities, outside auditors, and others as needed regarding financial information / data.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge of accounting procedures.
- Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements.
- Responds to problems / opportunities to improve work environment and participates in unit based performance improvement activities.
- Maintains established department's policies, procedures, compliance / quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control program.
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
