The company provides the design and supply of materials of proprietary retaining wall systems and earth related technologies to contractors and owners for use in civil engineering. The EHS Coordinator reports to the Environmental Health and Safety Manager and is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing company's employee safety program and Environmental compliance on site. The EHS Coordinator will ensure that plant is in compliance with and adheres to Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines, company programs and policies, to reduce/Manage and prevent work-related injuries and incidents.

The EHS Coordinator will ensure that plant is in compliance with and adheres to Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines, company programs and policies, to reduce/Manage and prevent work-related injuries and incidents.
Responsibilities Include
- Support the corporate Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager with local issues, reporting, records and other documentation.
- Support the Plant and corporate EHS initiatives and programs.
- Review existing policies and procedures, making recommendations for improvement.
- Work closely with operational management to develop a robust EH&S culture.
- Arrange and coordinate EH&S external training as required.
- Assist in the development of new EHS policies and procedures to meet Plant and Company needs.
- Utilize the Company’s audit protocols.
- Participate/Perform incident investigation and root cause analysis processes, and prepare required report(s)
- Perform injury and incident case management.
- Assist employees and management in the planning, recognition, evaluation, and mediation of risk.
- Develop Job Safety Analyses and Risk Assessments
- Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures
- Provide knowledge and understanding of applicable legislative, client, and company requirements for the Plant.
- Lead the EHS Training process for the Plant.
- Assist with implementation of the Drug & Alcohol Program
- Maintain and report all required company and OSHA statistics monthly.
- Assist Management in preparation of materials for monthly safety meetings.
- Attend and support plant pre-start meeting once per month.
- EHS responsibilities will be carried out in both a traditional office environment under traditional office conditions and in both indoor and outdoor manufacturing facilities.
- Must be able to coordinate or lead employees among different levels of the organization.
- Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, standing, walking, and driving.
- May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels in facilities being managed or coordinated.
- Able to wear personal protective clothing for prolonged periods; Safety helmet with chinstrap, safety shoes, eye protection, hand protection and hearing protection (as required).
- Minimum of 3 years of safety experience in construction, manufacturing or general industry, monitoring teams, safety programs, processes and procedures
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
- Hold a formal EHS qualification; minimum OSHA 30 (1910 or 1926) and OSHA 510/511
- Working towards Specialist in Safety and Health (SSH) Certificate
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Familiar with Workers Compensation claims processing
- Bilingual a plus (English and Spanish) – preferred
