Education Specialist
Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in a health-related field. Experience with youth in an education setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
One year of full-time experience with youth in an education setting. Professional experience with teaching reproductive health topics such as reproductive anatomy, contraceptive methods, STIs and HIV. Experience with community outreach and education. Experience generating reports through data management systems. Experience with Quality Management. Bilingual English/Spanish.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Education Specialist will be responsible for assisting in delivering evidence-based programs with fidelity to youth in a variety of settings, conduct community outreach and education and complete required reports as well as generating reports to ensure program standards are met. The Education Specialist will provide assistance and/or referrals for youth to obtain comprehensive Family Planning services, health services or other essential support services as identified.
Duties:
- Conduct community outreach and education to parents/guardians of adolescents and youth.
- Deliver evidence-based programs with fidelity to youth in a variety of settings.
- Provide assistance and/or referrals for youth to obtain Family Planning Services, health services or other essential support services as identified.
- Complete required reporting accurately and timely and assist with quality improvement activities including data management and generating reports to evaluate program goals.
- Other duties as assigned.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) to be offered for this position is noted below, it represents SBU’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Salary : $50,000 - $64,000
