Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Memory Care Activities Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the Activities Coordinator to plan and implement engaging, person-centered activities designed to enhance the quality of life for our residents living with memory impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, organizing, and executing daily activities tailored to residents' needs and abilities.
- Facilitate group and one-on-one activities such as music therapy, art projects, reminiscence sessions, and light physical exercises.
- Encourage resident participation and foster a sense of community.
- Support residents with transitioning to and from activity spaces as needed.
- Monitor and document resident engagement and feedback for program evaluation.
- Maintain activity areas, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and safety.
- Collaborate with the care team to create a holistic approach to resident well-being.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with individuals with memory impairments or in a senior care setting is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Creativity, patience, and the ability to adapt to residents’ individual needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in dementia care or therapeutic activities are a plus.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
