What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper/Laundry position at The Residences At Miami?
To maintain a clean, healthy environment for our residents, visitors, and staff that promotes good mental and physical health in pleasant surroundings free of litter and debris. Housekeepers are responsible for maintaining resident's suites and common areas.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.) Perform general cleaning assignments in apartments, hallways, and common areas.
2.) Participate in Monthly, Quarterly and annual cleaning schedules including vacuuming, changing bed linens, cleaning floor and countertops, dusting, cleaning bathrooms and removing trash
3.) Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
4.) Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
5.) Sweep and scrub bathroom floors.
6.) Washes walls, windows, door panels, and sills.
7.) Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
8.) Scours, polishes, and scrubs showers, sinks, mirrors, and other fixtures.
9.) Prepares apartments for move-ins and discharges as assigned.
10.) Utilizes cleaning chemicals properly and safely in accordance with department guidelines
11.) Informs supervisor of any pertinent resident issues or concerns.
12.) Performs any other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Bathroom Cleaning:
· Remove dirty towels; replace with clean towels.
· Clean the toilet (including the outside of the tank and the bowl) and spray disinfectant into the bowl.
· Clean the shower, including the shower walls and floor.
· Clean the shower curtain or door (if needed) and shower fixtures.
· Clean the mirror, sink and counter, polish fixtures.
Furniture and Fixture Cleaning:
· Dust the tops, sides and front of furniture.
· Wipe windowsills and air conditioning units.
· Clean any mirrors or glass in the suite (excluding windows).
Kitchen Cleaning:
· Clean the sink, countertop, microwave and/or stove (as applicable).
· Wipe the top and door of the refrigerator.
· Check the refrigerator for old/outdated foods. Discard, with the resident’s permission.
Changing the Bed:
· Remove all linen from the bed and remake the bed with clean linens.
· Remove the dirty linens.
Floors / Carpeted Areas:
· Change the vacuum bag if needed.
· Vacuum the living room, bedroom(s), kitchen area and bathroom
· Mop the kitchen and bathroom (NEVER use the kitchen mop in resident suites).
· Spot clean any soiled areas on carpet (complete a Maintenance Request form if the carpet is excessively soiled and may need to be extracted).
Other:
· Remove the resident’s laundry from the hamper or basket and place it with the towels and linens for delivery to the laundry room.
· Empty all wastebaskets and remove other trash as needed/desired by the resident.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and talk or hear.
· Must be able to stoop, bend and lift up to 50 pounds.
· Able to stand for prolonged periods of time, up to 8 hours per day.
· Must be able to push and pull up to 50 pounds.
