JOB SUMMARY
The Program Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing program engagement activities. This includes assessing, designing and implementation of various curriculum, facilitating training for our teaching artists, as well as maintaining a robust youth development program, and engaging with community partners. In this highly collaborative position, the Program Manager will manage shared goals set by the Team.
We seek an individual who has excellent project management skills; someone who can take an idea, build a road map, and implement it. This person can be productive independently and collaborate well with the Residency’s small team. They center youth and social justice while being an advocate for hip-hop culture. This person is a lifelong learner who isn’t afraid of not knowing, and has the drive to learn more.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Support :
Manage all program operations, including interns, in coordination with the DPBuild systems, templates & organize all programsAssist ED & DP to develop & implement programs & curriculumAssess & evaluate all programsSupport engagements requiring travelYouth Participant Support :
Coordinate & support youth program engagementTrack, identify, & coordinate youth performers with performance opportunitiesSupport individual youth projects & professional development opportunitiesCreate artistic profiles for all youth participants (ex. bio, headshot, skills, music)Teach / Mentor youth participants as neededYouth Council Support :
Build systems to support the Council (application, review process, goals / activities, etc)Meeting coordination, scheduling & communicationAttend & help facilitate meetings w / DPTrack & support tasks assigned to the Youth CouncilSupport the DP in mentoring the Youth CouncilWork with the Events Manager to support the Youth Council’s Satellite ShowsTeaching Artist Management :
Work with the ED and DP to identify & hire Teaching ArtistsOnboard Teaching ArtistsTrack reports on progress & participationCoordinate hours & invoices with Administrative CoordinatorCreate artistic profiles for all TAs (bio, headshot, skills, music sample)Assess and support the implementation of curriculum with teaching artists and program teamEvent Management :
Support rehearsals for performancesSupport Events Manager for all program eventsSupport events & workshops day-of as neededSummer Intensive Program Management :
Project manage all aspects of the Summer IntensiveLead community partner communicationDevelop participant outreach & selection coordinationSecure TAs & workshop venuesCoordinate with the Events Manager for the Final Showcase & applicable workshopsAdministrative :
Manage the Program Calendar; assess organization’s capacityCoordinate newsletter & website info with the Administrative CoordinatorCoordinate hiring docs & payroll for performers, participants, & Teaching Artists w / the Administrative CoordinatorCoordinate & schedule internal trainings as neededManage graphics / assets for each programManage & track the program budgetWork closely with Events Manager to support Social MediaOther Duties (as needed) :
Represent The Residency at public tabling & outreach eventsAssist with Development Team eventsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS
5 years experience in a project management role, with demonstrated ability to deliver events on time & on budgetExperience developing new, & existing programs from the ground upExperience working with young people (& be willing to take trainings)Familiarity with managing a teaching curriculumProficiency in industry tools such as Google Suite, Apple, Zoom, etcPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong ties to the community being served & connections to opportunities outside of performanceExperience with group facilitationConnection to local music & performing arts community (specifically hip-hop)Multilingual skills (especially Spanish)GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
