What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Golf Cart Mechanic position at The Resort at Longboat Key Club?
We are looking to add an Assistant Shop Mechanic to our team. We are secluded along the southern end of Longboat Key, between Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, the AAA Four-Diamond Resort at Longboat Key Club. 410 acres of lush lawns and pristine beachfront.
The Resort features pros two golf courses: the Harborside Course, which offers 27 holes of golf, and the Links on Longboat Course, which has 18 holes redesigned by Ron Garl in 2014. We are open 7 days a week, hours for this position are 5am-3pm.
Essential Functions:
- Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession.
- Diagnoses and repairs mechanical problems on equipment such as fuel, electrical, transmission, steering, braking and hydraulic systems.
- Performs an effective, daily inspection of golf course maintenance equipment.
- Working knowledge of a variety of equipment repair tools as needed for the job.
- Ability to use creativity and fabrication to make repairs in order to maintain a cost effective budget.
- Maintains a clean and well-organized parts inventory room and purchases repair parts and replacement supplies as needed.
- Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees and the club members and their guests.
- Inspects, maintains and keeps records for gasoline and diesel fuel tanks.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job requirements:
- Experience in repairing and maintaining vehicles, including but not limited to basic servicing, diagnostic testing, overhaul of engines and transmissions.
- Welding and metal working skills an advantage
- Be familiar with operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility.
- Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
- Meet the physical demands of the job. Must perform strenuous physical duties at times, including lifting, carrying, moving and climbing.
- Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written forms.
- Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in maintenance or related field- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds- Valid driver's license
