From our humble beginnings as a gathering of parents and concerned citizens who wanted to provide educational and training opportunities for persons with developmental and intellectual disabilities, The Resource Center has grown into a comprehensive agency providing services to thousands of persons with all types and levels of disabilities.

BEHAVIOR SERVICES COORDINATOR
RESPONSIBLE TO: Assistant Director of Residential Services/Clinical
FUNCTION:
To provide consistent and coordinated psychological/behavioral services as needed in the areas of psychological assessment, evaluation, consultation therapy, program development, and staff training to all residential facilities.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
CLINICAL
1. Performs psychological evaluations to assess the residents’ mental, psychological, behavioral, and adaptive functioning, and determines individual programmatic needs.
2. Provides such psychological information to the interdisciplinary team at the initial treatment meeting and, thereafter, participates in the formulation and review of a comprehensive treatment plan for each resident.
3. Designs and implements individual behavior plans, intervention techniques, psychological evaluation, design, and implementation of programmatic goals and objectives, and other areas, as needed or requested.
4. Provides staff development training in behavioral and intervention techniques, psychological evaluation, design and implementation of programmatic goals and objectives, and other areas, as needed or requested.
5. Develops, with assistance from other behavior staff, the necessary means of documentation regarding resident’s behavior, psychotropic medication, staff intervention, and all other necessary information relevant to those individuals receiving psychological/behavioral services.
6. Communicates as part of a management team with staff from other disciplines and other programs for the purpose of developing and maintaining a comprehensive approach to behavioral services.
7. Attends team meetings for individuals with challenging behaviors on and off of caseload to assist in development of appropriate programming
8. Is responsible to meet regularly with the Senior Psychologist and agency behavior staff in order to develop continuity of day and residential behavioral services.
ADMINISTRATIVE:
1. Represents the Residential Department and/or The Resource Center at various meeting and committee functions within or outside of the organization as needed or assigned.
2. Participates in the development of Outcomes and Performance Targets relative to assigned area(s) of responsibility and oversees the implementation and tracking of relevant Performance Targets.
3. Understands and ensures departmental adherence to agency-wide policies and procedures, as well as, policies outlined in the collective bargaining agreement between TRC and TRUCEA.
QUALITY ASSURANCE:
1. Is responsible for ensuring that behavior plans are developed in accordance with all applicable state and federal regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
2. Develops new policies and procedures for psychology services as this becomes necessary due to changes in regulation, or as policies become obsolete.
3. Conducts routine monitoring visits to both the ICF and IRA’s for regulatory and quality assurance. Submits on-site report to the Assistant Director of Residential Services/Clinical.
SUPERVISORY:
1. Responsible for providing administrative and clinical supervision of assigned Residential Services staff including but not limited to:
a. Hiring, firing, discipline, performance evaluation, in-service education and training, and ensuring that there are adequate number of staff to fulfill assigned responsibilities.
b. Approves staff schedules, ensuring sufficient staffing for the department.
c. Coordinates staff orientation with the Training Department and ensures new hires and regular staff receive ongoing trainings. May develop new trainings based upon department need.
d. Oversees all aspects of the workforce including timely completion of new hire paperwork, disciplinary actions and other personnel related matters.
OTHER:
1. Performs all other duties as needed or assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to interpret, implement, and synthesize regulations into department policies and procedures. Strong “people skills,” including but not limited to: the ability to communicate and work with a diverse workforce; good listening skills; productive conflict resolution skills, etc. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the job.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters degree in clinical, educational or counseling psychology, with training in assessment techniques and behavioral program development from an accredited college and two (2) years experience in applied behavior science activities. Prefer a minimum of two (2) years of administrative/supervisory experience. Valid driver’s license and vehicle for work-related travel or equivalent accommodations required.
