What are the responsibilities and job description for the Afterschool Educational Program Instructor position at The Resource Room?
Reports to: Program Coordinator, Executive Director
Plans and administer all literacy and academic activities. Assist program participates in all afterschool components activities under the Program Site Supervisor and/or Executive Director.
Duties & Responsibilities: Applicant must:
- Facilitate and/or coach counselors in Academic Support daily
- Prepare Lesson Plans and discuss with counselors
- Report to Program Coordinator and/or Executive Director daily or as needed
- Execute objectives, strategies and action plans to fulfill the programs fidelity.
- Work closely with parents so students improve academically and socially.
- Act as a role model to student participants.
- Ensure materials are available for students
- Provide accurate HW assistance daily
- Report to Program Coordinator if a student has had no HW for 2 days consecutively
- Continually analyze students progress and social conditions to ensure strategies align with students qualifications are reached for graduation or passing of year.
- Ensuring sign-in and out sheets are available daily for parents.
- Help mediate conflict
- Other related duties assigned by Program Coordinator and/or Executive Director
- Attend staff orientation, staff meeting, parent orientation and two trainings per school year.
- Attend End of Year Program and Family Event
- Meet with Program Coordinator bi-weekly
- Help keep environment clean, safe and sanitized
- Complete Incident/ Accident Reports as Necessary
- Complete weekly students reports
Job Qualifications:
- An undergraduate degree and/or teacher certification
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to work in the USA
- Ability to work effectively with Team of divergent members
- Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and recommend and implement
- Demonstrate ability to discuss problems and communicate effectively with parents
- Maintain professional demeanor and appearance
- Must have reliable transportation
- Computer Skills: MS Office
