Job Title: Somatic-Focused Therapist

Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Marriage and Family Therapist (licensed or associate) with a somatic-focused approach to join our private practice in Santa Barbara. This is a part-time position (currently 10-15 hours per week), with flexibility to work in-office or via Telehealth. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with individuals through a mind-body framework and is eager to enhance their experience in trauma-informed, somatic, and experiential therapeutic modalities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual sessions with a focus on somatic-based interventions.
- Maintain a consistent caseload of clients, with flexible scheduling based on availability and client needs.
- Utilize a trauma-informed and embodied approach to therapy, integrating mindfulness, breathwork, movement, or other somatic techniques.
- Document progress notes in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other professionals as needed to ensure holistic client care.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology, or a related field.
- Registered LMFT/AMFT in the state of California (or eligibility for registration).
- Experience or strong interest in somatic-focused therapy, trauma-informed care, and mind-body healing modalities.
- Training or familiarity with approaches such as EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing, Brainspotting, or other mindfulness-based interventions is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently while being open to feedback and collaboration.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
