Overview
The Clinical Director is responsible for formulating and providing oversight to new program development, supervise existing programs within the facility and provide effective collaboration between the administrative and clinical management. He/she is also a member of the Treatment Team and provides input into the development of the patient’s clinical record and treatment course. The Clinical Director is responsible for the implementation of elements of performance, and standards of compliance of the Program as per Licensing standards. He/she functions under the guidance of their state licensure in accordance with standards of State and Federal regulations.
Duties
1. Provides ongoing supervision and support to clinical and non-clinical staff performing Direct Care Services.
2. Oversees a regular systemic review of UR notes and Peer reviews.
3. Coordination and scheduling of Clinical staff.
4. Completion of department goals and objectives for assigned areas of responsibility or departments.
5. Works with departmental budgets with input from directors and/or supervisors.
6. Works closely and coordinates activities related to Support Services with other management staff.
7. Acts as liaison between clinical staff and CEO and/ or supervisors to assure that issues are addressed, and complaints resolved.
8. Addresses patient, family, and employee complaints in a timely and effective manner.
9. Administers Daily Clinical Staff meetings and participates in Treatment Team meetings.
10. Actively participants in individual client interdisciplinary treatment plan meetings.
11. With other management personnel, assures the facility’s compliance with Joint Commission, State of Georgia regulations, and other regulatory agencies.
12. Assures appropriate representation on various Performance Improvement Teams (e.g. Utilization Review, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, Leadership, Rights, Responsibilities, and Ethics, and Safety, etc.)
13. Keeps abreast of legislative and legal changes which may have an impact on operations.
14. Communicates to patient’s primary therapist any medical problems, which can interfere or are interfering with their participation in the program.
15. Performs clinical activities in a safe, professional manner & maintains compliance with established mental health care standards.
16. Reports abuse of patient’s rights immediately.
17. Performs other duties as assigned by the CEO.
Experience
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a healthcare setting, preferably as a Clinical Director or similar position.
- Familiarity with JCAHO standards and regulations is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
- Minimum of 3 years in healthcare management experience required. Mental health and/or substance abuse disorder background preferred.
- Licensure/certification requirements: LCSW, LMHC, LMFT
- Master’s Degree (or higher) Counseling, Social Work, Mental Health or Marriage and Family related fields required.
