Position description:
The Reynolds and Reynolds Company is seeking an In-House Attorney to handle a wide variety of complex legal matters and projects with a primary focus in contracting.
The specific job functions will include: reviewing, negotiating, and drafting customer, vendor, and other agreements; coordinating sophisticated strategies with outside counsel; advising on current legal matters and developments with the law; providing general support to the company’s sales and operations departments; understanding and translating complex legal concepts for all levels of business personnel; and other legal matters facing the company. This position requires travel up to 25% of the time and will be based out of our facility in Houston, Texas.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Jurisprudence from an accredited law school
- Currently licensed to practice law in the United States, preferably in the State of Texas or Ohio
- Prefer 5 years of experience in a law firm or as in-house counsel in a corporate setting
- Exercise exceptional legal reasoning, analysis, and contract drafting abilities
- Possess strong negotiating skills and reasoned judgment
- Must be adaptive and able to work productively both independently and as a member of a team
- Must be able to communicate effectively with executive and associate level employees both orally and in writing
- Must be coachable and willing to learn
