The Richardson Group is seeking an experienced controller to supervise the accounting team for a diverse group of businesses. The controller will be instrumental in refining policies and procedures to incorporate appropriate internal controls to protect assets and accurately report financial results. The ideal candidate will have a natural team mentality; demonstrate a positive attitude, welcome collaboration, be flexible, and hold themselves personally accountable for their role and responsibilities. This position will report to the Director of Accounting.
Responsibilities:
· Manage the monthly accounting process, closing, monthly JE’s, and reconciliation of accounts.
· Prepare payroll and verify proper monthly tax filings and benefits reconciliation.
· Oversee bank transactions and reconciliations for all entities.
· Review and approval of weekly accounts payable check processing.
· Protect and maintain assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
· Provide insight and analysis of monthly financial data.
· Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.
· Maintain financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
· Prepare budgets for main operating entities.
· Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
Controller Qualifications / Skills:
· History of managing processes and developing standards.
· Strong understanding of business processes and financial data analysis.
· Experience developing budgets and explaining variances.
· Experience managing payroll.
· Continual focus on process improvement.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
· CPA Preferred
· Minimum 10 years professional accounting experience
· Property Management and/or Restaurant accounting experience a plus
· MRI and ADP Workforce Now experience a plus
Work Hours and Benefits:
Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 to 5:00 and Friday 8:30 to 3:00.

Salary: $80,000 - $95,000K per year
