Summary
The Richland Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of our hospital's facilities. Reporting directly to the Director of Facilities Maintenance, this role is responsible for ensuring that the hospital building, grounds, and equipment remain in optimal condition and are safe for employees, patients, and visitors. In addition, the Maintenance Coordinator will manage security tasks, coordinate fire alarm drills, and provide oversight of preventative maintenance to minimize equipment breakdowns.
This position requires flexibility and a willingness to cover staff absences as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Autonomy and Accountability:
- Ensure compliance with State and Federal Regulations, EEO, and The Joint Commission guidelines.
- Coordinate work schedules to ensure the Maintenance staff is available during business hours.
- Meet deadlines, complete responsibilities, and follow hospital/department policies.
- Demonstrate reliability and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Assist with the training and education of staff, ensuring a collaborative learning environment.
- Oversee the Maintenance Department during the Director’s absence (PTO).
- Maintain health and safety standards in the hospital and department.
- Promote the “Soaring to Excellence” initiatives and hold staff accountable to behavior standards.
Department Coordination:
- Coordinate Maintenance Department functions and supervise staff when necessary.
- Assist in developing, revising, and implementing maintenance policies and procedures.
- Evaluate employee performance and assist with staff education and ongoing training.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and clean as needed.
- Maintain utilities and HVAC systems, observe mechanical devices for proper operation, and perform repairs.
- Responsible for maintaining the fire alarm system, conducting fire alarm drills, and testing.
- Secure hospital grounds, perform security checks, and assist with medical helicopter preparedness.
- Assist in plumbing maintenance, repairs, and other tasks as assigned by the Director of Facilities Maintenance.
