Position: Robotic Welder
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Robotic Welder to join our team. This role primarily focuses on performing TIG welding on aluminum and steel tanks and fittings, using robotic systems to automate the process, while still ensuring precision and quality according to customer specifications and drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and program robotic welding systems to assemble and weld tubes and fittings, ensuring compliance with specifications.
- Perform manual welding and adjustments when necessary, including welding on both aluminum and steel materials.
- Set up and maintain welding robots, including fixture adjustments, setting welding parameters (amps, volts, etc.), and optimizing machine performance.
- Repair products by dismantling, reshaping, and reassembling parts as required.
- Conduct finish grinding operations using both manual and powered tools.
- Utilize knowledge of wire, filler materials, and gases specific to different steel alloys for optimal welding results.
- Ensure high-quality, precise welds by reviewing blueprints and interpreting weld symbols accurately.
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure it operates efficiently.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED, or at least one year of relevant welding experience, preferably in a production setting. A Trade or V-Tech degree in a related field is a plus.
- Expertise in TIG and MIG welding techniques, with a strong focus on robotic welding systems.
- Familiarity with the properties of wire, filler materials, and gases for various alloys.
- Experience with fixturing, weld setup, and the programming of robotic welding systems.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and understand weld symbols.
- Successful completion of an internal welding assessment and ability to meet customer certification requirements as needed.
Mathematical Skills:
- Competency in performing calculations such as rates, ratios, percentages, and interpreting bar graphs.
Computer Skills:
- Basic proficiency in using the PRMS (Production Resource Management System) for data entry and monitoring welding operations.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Valid welding certification required.
Work Environment:
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasional exposure to vibration.
- The work area typically has high noise levels.
