Sales Manager Job Summary:

The RipTide Car Wash is seeking a dynamic and motivated Sales Manager to lead our sales teams for one of our Nashville locations. As a family-owned and operated business with a significant presence throughout the Southeast, we are eager to onboard a leader who embodies our drive for growth and excellence.

Our ideal candidate has a robust background in sales management, with a particular emphasis on leading teams and achieving sales targets. Key areas of expertise we're looking for include:

  • Proven ability to manage, mentor, and grow sales teams, ensuring consistent sales performance and fostering a strong company culture.
  • Experience with Unlimited Wash Club Memberships/Monthly Recurring Plans, including sales strategies, customer retention, and problem resolution.
  • A solid understanding of sales operations, including training protocols, performance evaluation, and quality control.
  • Skill in navigating customer satisfaction scenarios, ensuring the RipTide brand is represented with excellence at all levels.

Sales Manager Job Schedule:

Sales Managers are expected to work at least 35 hours per week, focusing on sales team management and performance evaluation. A flexible schedule is necessary, with availability required to support sales attendants and ensure operational consistency. This role includes strategic planning and administrative duties. Furthermore, regular interaction with the sales and management teams is expected.

Sales Manager Compensation:

  • The starting pay rate is $18- $20 per hour.
  • Sales Managers are eligible to receive overtime pay.
  • Sales Managers are also eligible for sales commission for each unlimited wash plan or prepaid plan membership they sell. We run various promotions throughout the year to increase customer numbers and make selling plans easier. Commission payouts vary depending on the unlimited/prepaid wash plan package, but the typical payout is $10 per plan sold.
  • Over the years, RipTide has sold our customers tens of thousands of unlimited wash plan memberships. Our most successful sales managers make over $40/hour when their hourly rate and commission bonuses are added together!
  • Sales Managers are also eligible for performance-based monthly bonuses linked to sales targets and sales team performance.

Sales Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership and Communication:

  • Regular meetings with the site’s District Manager, General Manager, and RipTide’s Regional Sales Manager to discuss sales performance and strategies.
  • Weekly meetings with sales attendants to review individual sales goals and progress.
  • Monthly evaluation of the sales team’s performance and sales commissions.

Sales Team Management:

· Train new sales attendants and provide ongoing coaching.

· Set monthly goals for sales attendants and ensure they are met.

· Schedule top-performing sales attendants at pay stations to maximize sales opportunities.

· Ensure all sales attendants are in proper uniform, including nametags.

· Maintain a clean and well-stocked sales area.

Performance Evaluation:

· Conduct quarterly evaluations of sales attendants.

· Review and adjust the sales plan as needed to improve performance.

Administrative Tasks:

· Ensure 100% pay station coverage with attentive and proactive attendants.

· Utilize checklists to maintain consistency and quality in operations.

Sales Manager Monthly Checklist:

  • Goal Setting and Communication:
  • Set and pursue monthly goals in coordination with the General Manager.
  • Meetings and Training:
  • Conduct weekly meetings with sales attendants to discuss personal sales goals.
  • Hold weekly meetings with the General Manager and monthly meetings with the District Manager for checklist verification.
  • Organize monthly training sessions for all sales attendants, including:
  • PowerPoint presentations
  • Current promotional offers
  • POS (Point of Sale) training
  • Any additional training required (in consultation with management)
  • Performance and Incentives:
  • Review and discuss commissions with each sales attendant to evaluate and set goals.
  • Implement incentive programs:
  • Sales Manager: Pay increases based on total memberships (evaluated per site).

Sales Manager Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales and team management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and train a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
