What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fitness Specialist position at The Risher Companies?
The Fitness Specialist is responsible for for the development, organization and implementation of all fitness and wellness programs. This includes but not limited to, fitness classes, personal training services, and active older adult programs, equipment orientations, youth, teen, and family health/wellness activities and/or community events.
Job Responsibilities:
Works with and supports the Community Services Director daily to ensure the organization of the Fitness Center, Recreation center, Kids Zone, and Bagdad Crossfit are performing to their highest standards.
Supervises, trains, manages, and schedules staff for the Fitness Center, Recreation Center, Kids Zone and Bagdad Crossfit.
Provides monthly reports to the Community Services Director on the Fitness Center, Recreation center, Kids Zone and Bagdad Crossfit analytics.
Maintains positive relationships with community (including responding to complaints as needed)
Communicates with organizers/participants of schedule changes for programs and events.
Develops and implements the Fitness Center, Recreation center, Kids Zone and Bagdad Crossfit operations (duties, checklists, etc)
Develops, organize, and implements fitness and wellness activities, both facilities based, and community based, and assists in the coordination of community events.
Monitors and evaluates fitness and wellness programs for quality and enrollment.
Oversees and provide guidance to staff in fitness and wellness
Substitutes for fitness instructors, if necessary, so that interruption in service to members is kept to a minimum.
Oversees the operations, scheduling, rentals, repairs and maintenance of Fitness Facilities, Recreation Room, Kids Zone and Bagdad Crossfit.
Schedules checks and maintenance scheduling for all campus AED and Fire extinguishers.
Performs public relations duties and responds to any complaints.
Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree, or related field; OR High School Diploma and equivalent of 1-2 years of relevant work experience. Required Certifications: Current Professional Fitness Certification (Personal Training, Group Fitness, Crossfit or similar) or ability to obtain within first 6 months of employment. Certification in CPR/AED or ability to obtain within the first 90 days of employment.
