Description
The Chemist Intern is responsible for performing, under close supervision, analytical testing related to raw materials, compounding activities, and final product testing excluding HPLC/GC analysis in the Chemistry laboratory. Other responsibilities include sampling and testing of utilities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Analytical Services Department in testing and data security activities
- Responsible for performing limited chemical raw material, in-process, and final product testing excluding HPLC/GC analysis
- Responsible for performing chemical tests associated with validations, such as cleaning process or equipment validations excluding HPLC analysis
- Responsible for practicing all applicable cGMPs
- Documents raw and final data to ensure complete and proper documentation according to our procedures and applicable cGMPs
- Notify Analytical Services Laboratory Management immediately of out of specification results
- Notify Analytical Services Laboratory Management of laboratory equipment problems
- Responsible for the general maintenance of the Chemistry Laboratory including good housekeeping and a safe working environment
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures, safety, health, and cGMP Guidelines
Qualifications:
- Candidate actively pursuing a 4 year degree in Chemistry or related scientific field from an accredited college or university
- Proficient with current word processing, spreadsheets, and database software
- Strong interpersonal/group communication skills with the ability to influence others
- Ability to participate in and contribute to a team-oriented work environment by developing positive working relationships within QC and between other departments
