Director of Recreation Job Description :
The Riverside Premier Rehabilitation and Healing Center is seeking an experienced, passionate, and dedicated full-time Director of Recreation that possesses strong leadership and supervisory skills. Candidate will be a team player that works collaboratively and always focuses on resident well-being.
Director of Recreation Responsibilities / Essential Functions :
Working with corporate guidelines to develop, plan, and implement monthly calendar of recreational programs and activities and plan special events based on the individual needs of residents
Set up / break down and lead therapeutic activities to help residents with physical, mental, or psychosocial needs
Document / track resident attendance during activities and resident council
Review activity assessments for residents
Organize & obtain department supplies
Create department staff schedule and track & approve staff pto requests
Assist in staff and resident birthday celebrations
Involved in employee engagement activities.
Director of Recreation Qualifications :
Must have LTC or skilled nursing facility experience (REQUIRED)
Experience in care planning, MDS and overall program management (preferred)
Possess excellent interpersonal skills and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Director of Recreation 2 years experience (preferred)
Musical talent is a plus!
Schedule :
Monday to Friday (hours can vary on event days). Occasionally required to work the weekends, evenings, etc.
