Summer Intern, Marketing & Corporate Communications

Overview

The successful candidate will support the Marketing department for The RMR Group, a leading U.S. alternative asset management company, unique for its focus on commercial real estate (CRE) and related businesses. The intern will be joining a fast-paced environment and a collaborative, results-driven team.  

As part of this role, the intern will learn about the CRE industry, gain an understanding of the corporate marketing function and build experience in various communications disciplines including corporate branding and marketing, digital communications and internal/employee messaging. 

The intern will be afforded a sense of ownership, the ability to put existing and new skills into practice and the satisfaction of contributing to the development of RMR’s communications programs.

Responsibilities

• Marketing and Branding: Assist in developing draft documents such as presentations, talking points and press releases for RMR and its clients.
• Digital Communications: Assist in drafting and editing communications materials including website copy and social media content.
• Internal Communications: Support the development of employee-focused communications tools and materials including content for RMR’s intranet, employee testimonials and diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
• Other: Provide additional administrative support for the Marketing department during busy periods.
• Provide reception desk coverage on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

• Availability to work 40 hours per week.
• Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Strong writing abilities.
• Previous office and co-op/internship experience, a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, a plus.
• Enthusiastic, professional, resourceful and client-service focused.
• Excellent organizational, research, verbal and written communication skills.
• Not eligible for course credit.
