Position Overview
The Senior Business Analyst, Operations will play a pivotal role in supporting The Rockefeller Foundation’s strategic and operational goals by providing integrated business planning and data analysis to enhance operational performance, and efficiency, and drive data-driven decision-making. This role partners with the Office of the Chief Operation Officer (COO), operations leaders, and stakeholders across Finance, RF Catalytic Capital, IT, Legal, Office of Grants Management, Human Resources, CPI, Connected Leaders, Bellagio Center, and Sustainable Operations.
The analyst will translate complex strategic questions into actionable insights through in-depth data analysis and visually compelling reports. They will collaborate with data owners and IT to develop and maintain integrated operations dashboards, ensuring data accuracy and consistency. Additionally, they will drive business enablement by improving processes, supporting change management, and monitoring risk indicators within enterprise risk management. Key responsibilities include supporting integrated goal and budget-setting, conducting financial analyses, partnering with finance on forecasting, managing the business planning calendar, and contributing to scenario planning for resource optimization.
The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mentality with the heart of a storyteller. They will be a self-starter and can manage multiple projects, integrate data from various sources, and develop user-friendly dashboards and reports. They should excel in relationship building, stakeholder management, and problem-solving, and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.
This position reports to the Managing Director, Operations within the Office of the COO and requires a balance of critical thinking and operational execution, contributing to both the immediate and long-term success of the Foundation.
Pay Range: $103,300 - $136,700. This represents the present low and high end of the Foundation’s pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to experience.
Work Schedule: This role is on a hybrid work schedule, and required to be in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Transform complex strategic business questions into targeted data analyses, delivering clear, visually engaging reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop a comprehensive performance reporting framework.
- Develop and maintain integrated dashboards and reports in collaboration with data owners.
- Ensure all dashboards and reports are intuitive and user-friendly, and support data literacy through training.
- Maintain data accuracy by identifying and resolving discrepancies with data owners.
- Continuously refine reporting processes and tools for greater efficiency, accuracy, and strategic alignment.
- Advocate for responsible data use and analysis to drive informed decision-making across operations.
Integrated Business Planning and Enablement
- Drive integrated annual goal and budget setting with the Office of the COO and operations leaders.
- Conduct financial analysis to support budget management and collaborate on annual and multi-year forecasting.
- Manage the business planning calendar, aligning milestones in consultation with operations leadership.
- Support scenario planning and modeling exercises to inform strategic decisions, change management for new processes, and optimize resource allocation.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships to align solutions with organizational priorities.
- Contribute to the enterprise risk management program by identifying risks, proposing mitigation strategies, and monitoring risk indicators.
Education, Experience, and Skills
- Generally expected to have 5 years of experience in business analysis, strategy, operations, or data analysis, with expertise in managing complex projects and data-driven decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Salesforce reporting and dashboard configuration expertise.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms for dynamic dashboards and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills for issue identification, root cause analysis, and solution development.
- Experience presenting highly visual analyses to senior leadership and other executive audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
- Collaborative team player skilled in stakeholder management.
- Proactive and adaptable, with a track record of process improvement.
- Detail-oriented, ensuring data accuracy and integrity while managing multiple tasks.
