Position Description
Performs simple to difficult repairs on small engines, Farm, turf and construction equipment, along with other specialized Park District machinery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned
Inspection/Maintenance
Provides repairs, servicing, and related activities to all vehicles and equipment for the Rockford Park District.
Performs and oversees frequent routine safety checks on vehicles and equipment; files safety reports and CMMS as required
Checks work site regularly to ensure timely work completion, safety, and cleanliness.
Assists in developing and maintaining an annual preventive maintenance program for all vehicles and equipment.
Diagnose, repair or replace- engines, transmission, clutches, gearboxes ,hydraulic systems, electrical systems, reel cutting units and other mechanical systems
Performs repairs on 2 stroke, 4 stroke and diesel engines.
Performs golf course equipment service such as sharpening, adjusting reel cutting units
Performs welding and torch work.
Read service manuals, electrical and hydraulic schematics to diagnose vehicles and equipment.
Hauls equipment between Facilities with trucks and trailers
Orders parts from vendors to repair equipment
Operational Excellence
Ensures that all work performed is conducted in a safe and timely manner adhering to standards of cleanliness and effective equipment utilization.
Process work orders and responds in writing or verbally to work progress or completion.
Order parts and supplies needed to repair Park District vehicles and equipment. Goes to vendors to obtain the parts.
Effectively and safely operates Rockford Park District equipment including trailering equipment, fork vehicles, snow removal equipment, aerial lifts, skid loaders, wheel loaders.
Assists in developing and annually updating the general maintenance procedural manual.
Assists in developing and controlling equipment repair manuals, charts, and other work records.
Customer Satisfaction
Provides quality customer service to all patrons, guests, and other District employees.
Esures a superior customer experience in all interactions through outstanding service capabilities, knowledge, flexibility, and thoroughness.
Quickly and effectively solves customer problems that ensure total satisfaction.
Transports vehicles and equipment to the shop for repairs and back to their location when they are fixed.
