MaxPak, a TRG company and affiliate of Schwarz Partners, has an exciting opportunity available for an Assistant Maintenance Manager at our facility in Lakeland, FL! The Assistant Maintenance Manager is responsible for all activities associated with assisting the Maintenance Manager with the planning and implementation of repairs on a wide variety of production equipment at ALL MaxPak locations with minimal downtime. Specialize in the capabilities and utilization of specific equipment to run efficiently and be cost effective. This role involves making decisions and necessary adjustments to optimize machine performance going beyond standard technician duties which includes: set-ups, manual adjustments, operating various production tools and equipment, repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment, coordinating and planning downtime for preventive maintenance & other necessary repairs for ALL Equipment. This role involves filling in for the Maintenance Manager in his/her absence. This position REQUIRES experience in the INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE field.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
- Directly supervise and direct all employees in the Maintenance Department
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
- Training employees as well as planning, assigning, and directing work assignments
- Report to Maintenance Manager, General Manager, and Operations/Production Manager any information that may impede the operation of the plant as soon as it becomes known and make recommendations to minimize downtime and expenses
- Monitor warranties and service guarantees and notify personnel of impending expiration dates
- Conduct inventory of maintenance parts and supplies on a monthly basis verifying with the MVP system and make necessary adjustments accordingly
- Initiate and/or maintain a cost-effective preventive maintenance program utilizing the MVP system
- Monitor water treatment for the boiler
- Conduct weekly and monthly Production/Safety meetings with Maintenance crew
- Assist in selection, evaluation, and installation of capital and expense projects
- Maximize the utilization of equipment and maintaining the machinery to run at available capacity and speed
- Planning and implementation of repairs on specialty equipment located located at ALL MaxPak locations
- Become the expert specializing in the capabilities and utilization of each piece of equipment to maximize output and cost effectiveness
- Coordinate, plan, & implement necessary repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment
- Make decisions regarding optimizing machine performance and implementing those adjustments by making the necessary adjustments to the equipment
- Training other employees to operate said equipment safely and maximizing efficiency
- Implement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures, including safety program and good housekeeping
- Creation and distribution of necessary reports and notifications to various levels of management
- Various building maintenance as needed
- Flexibility in regards to schedule – hours may vary depending on the needs
- Complete all paperwork neatly, correctly, an in accordance with Company guidelines
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Additional duties as assigned by Management
- High school diploma or GED
- Computer Data entry skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Four years maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant
- College and/or related technical courses
- Demonstrated ability understanding equipment specifications and capabilities and using those tools to determine how to maximize output and train others effectively
- Five years’ experience in the corrugated box industry with heavy experience in electronics, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electricity.
- Ability to read and interpret various business documents, operating & maintenance instructions, regulatory laws & manuals, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and employees of the Company.
- Ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate.
- Ability to apply concepts of High School Math
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to solve practical problems and not so practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation
- Superior time management skills including the ability to manage multiple issues concurrently
- Ability to lead meetings effectively
- Excellent employee relations skills
- Maintain necessary Certificates, Licenses, & Registrations including a current lift truck operator license and appropriate certifications to work in specific areas or on specific equipment
