Are you a registered clinical or counselling psychologist or a CBT therapist with experience working in an acute hospital environment using CBT / ACT / CFT approaches?
We are looking for a Band 7 0.8 WTE Clinical / Counselling psychologist to work in our Chelsea hospital site in our ‘directive’ pathway (e.g. CBT / ACT / CFT approaches. EMDR would be a plus). As well as direct inpatient and outpatient work, this role will also include supervision to nurses / AHPs within the trust, psychological consultation to medical and rehabilitation teams, and service development.
You will be joining a supportive and friendly team of qualified and trainee psychological practitioners from across a range of clinical backgrounds, including, counselling, psychology (clinical and counselling), psychosexual therapy, psychotherapy, psychiatry and mental health nursing. There is excellent internal and external CPD provision.

Main duties of the job
- To work within our ‘directive’ pathway providing structured therapies such as CBT / ACT / CFT (our other pathways are : exploratory, family, psychiatry / mental health nursing)
- Provide a high quality specialist clinical / counselling psychologist / CBT therapy service to adult cancer patients within the context of the Adult Psychological Support Service, including assessment and evidence based interventions associated with the complex physical and psychological impacts of a cancer diagnosis.
- Work autonomously, within professional guidelines, code of conduct and the overall framework of the team / trust policies and procedures.

At The Royal Marsden we have an immune compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.
The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
