Bar Manager

The Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club is on the hunt for an experienced, metrics-minded, detail-oriented BAR MANAGER to help lead our Gowanus Brooklyn location.

From streamlining and elevating our bar program with an eye towards maximizing profits…to nurturing and educating our incredible staff…to conflict resolution and connecting authentically with vendors and guests, this job demands an authoritative, knowledgeable extrovert with common sense, deep interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to spare.

Must be comfortable on the floor, in the office, behind the bar and leading/inspiring a staff of over 25 charming and unique individuals.

Our ideal candidate is passionate and knowledgeable about the beverage and hospitality industries, inspired to build a fast, fun-focused, efficient, bottom-line-friendly bar program and engaged by the challenge of balancing the interests of the guests, the staff and the management team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Weekly Liquor Inventory

-Ordering & Cost Analysis

-Training, motivating, encouraging and leading the entire bar team

-Updating and Troubleshooting POS systems (Experience with Toast ideally)

-Connecting authentically with guests

-Ensuring constant compliance with occupational, health, and safety standards from staff, facilities and patrons

-Insisting on a culture of respect, inclusion and camaraderie for staff, guests and vendors

-Maintaining a sparking facility that meets all DOH standards

-Keeping all necessary permits, paperwork and posters up to date

-Building an industry-friendly, welcoming community

-Managing ice machines, gas, refrigeration and all supply maintenance

-Maintaining paperwork accuracy with technical proficiency

-Promoting an approachable, inclusive leadership style

Hospitality-specific management experience is a must
