What are the responsibilities and job description for the Collision Technician position at The RV Shop?
The RV Shop is looking for experienced Collision Technicians to support us on a wide range of projects and repairs for large commercial vehicles, trailers, RVs, and company fleets.
The Collision Technician will be responsible for reconditioning vehicles back to beauty, whether from a collision or for a refinish. You will work independently and as a team to finish projects in a productive manner. This is a full-time in-house position that does not require any licenses or insurance.
Job Responsibilities
- Disassemble damaged parts from vehicles using the proper tools
- Repair and replace defective or damaged parts
- Remove any necessary upholstery, accessories, and/or electrical to access damaged areas of the vehicle
- Store reusable parts in a safe and appropriate place for later use
- Mend damaged body by hammering out, filling in dents, or welding broken parts
- Replace bolts as needed and align panels properly
- Perform various cosmetic repairs or damages
- File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces
- Prepare vehicles for paint and masking
- Report any unforeseen damages or issues with management
- Follow work orders and other duties as assigned and by procedure
- All other Duties Assigned by management
Collision Technician Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience/exposure to Collision Work
- CDL preferred, but not required
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work in a high performance, fast-paced team environment
