Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated systems and equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical background and proficiency in various technical tools and software. The Automation Technician will work closely with engineers and other technicians to ensure optimal performance of automation systems.
Duties
- Install, configure, and maintain automation equipment and systems.
- Utilize an ohmmeter to test electrical circuits and components.
- Fabricate components as needed to support automation projects.
- Maintain low voltage systems to ensure safety and functionality.
- Detect and troubleshoot issues in automated processes using logic controllers.
- Create and modify technical drawings using AutoCAD for system layouts.
- Provide field service support for automation equipment at client sites.
- Collaborate with team members to improve system efficiency and reliability.
Skills
- Proficient in the use of an ohmmeter for electrical testing.
- Ability to fabricate mechanical components as required.
- Experience in maintaining low voltage systems is essential.
- Strong skills in detecting faults within automated systems.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD for designing automation layouts.
- Knowledge of logic controllers and their programming is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge to understand complex machinery and systems.
- Background as an industrial electrician is preferred but not mandatory.
- Field service experience is advantageous for this role.
